The Unbearable Lightness of Crashing wins a major award

(That's me in the front row, second from the left, and James J. Butler in the back row, third from the left)
"The Unbearable Lightness of Crashing," a film short I made with my childhood friend, James Jr. Butler, in 2019, received a "Special Mention" ("major award" is a tongue-in-cheek reference from the Bob Clark classic, A Christmas Story) from the jury of MotoTematica Motorcycle Film Festival in Rome, Italy, last weekend. From the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon, to an auditorium across from a Jurassic Park ride in a gigantic Italian amusement park outside of Rome, we've now watched our little movie play on the big screen twice!
For anyone interested, I published a six-part vlog series about our experience on my YouTube channel. You can find it here:

I would love to make more short films just to see them play on big screens and meet people from all over the world. If James and I turn out to be a one-hit wonder, then at least we'll always have Rome (I'll take it if we never have Paris), but hopefully our ride will continue.
